The position:

This position is responsible for development and delivery of digital marketing communications and brand strategies for the Wiley Education Services brand. This person will be held accountable for developing strategies and activating tactics to deliver upon achievement of objectives including branding, communications planning and media relations that drive lead generation and build thought leadership presence.

 

This role will oversee the:

  • Development of corporate brand assets
  • Management and updates of the corporate website, with support from our agency partners
  • Review of assets, such as conference presentations, to ensure proper alignment with the corporate brand
  • Amplification of the corporate brand through media relations efforts

Responsibilities

  • Must be an adept integrator in working closely with others on the corporate marketing team and collaborating with Operations, Admissions and Academic Services.
  • Requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Requires experience in the following disciplines: Market Strategy, Brand Positioning and Messaging, Channel Strategy, and Media Relations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Apply insights from research, analytics and media teams and conducts supplemental market assessment through primary and secondary research to inform and evaluate marketing plans, product positioning, tactics and creative.
  • Understand lead and channel performance reports to help inform marketing plans and shifts in initiatives to drive business goals.
  • Apply industry expertise charged with continually building understanding of the higher education market, including competitive landscape and innovations.
  • Support new business opportunities and special projects as requested by the Brand Leadership.
  • Have a deep understanding of audience for the corporate brand and applies those insights to the development of the engagement strategy.
  • Manage and execute the delivery of integrated marketing initiatives (i.e. advertising campaigns) for in close conjunction with the creative teams. Responsible for effective project briefing and setting up SME executors for success with assigned deliverables. Briefing should be concise and delivered in an inspired way to solicit the best work product.
  • Be responsible for the development of value propositions, offers and calls-to-action to convert website traffic to qualified leads.
  • Develop creative briefing materials and is responsible for collaborating with creative services to ensure creative and messaging align with marketing strategies and partners' brand guidelines.
  • Develop and deploy lead nurturing strategies to support the business development team and enable the guidance of prospects through the decision journey.
  • Think creatively and bring new ideas on how to share the Wiley Education Services story with external media audiences. Liaisons with internal teams to develop media communication materials, such as press releases, by-lined articles, and case studies. Coordinates broadcast and print outreach.
  • Tracks and analyze media placements and prepare monthly reports.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of all marketing channels and their roles in the media mix. Consistently show ability to consider marketing and communications as a whole when developing and optimizing strategies.
  • Be responsible for managing projects and deliverables within budget parameters.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business or related field of study
  • 7+ years working in online media, digital, direct marketing and/or eCommerce environments with a focus on Account Management, branding and content.
  • Ability to identify markets, competition and target audience in the execution of strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail. Ability to work in a multi-tasking entrepreneurial environment.
  • Good attitude and a positive mind-set.
  • Solid presentation skills and comfort in presenting in front of groups and clients.
  • Conversant in Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools as well as WordPress.
  • Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead and work directly with internal and external clients to provide recommendations and outline plans.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and managing a large volume of projects.
  • Strong project management skills
