Position: Accountant III – Finance and Administrative Services
Location: Waukegan, IL
Salary: $58,991 - $75,764.32

Job Summary: As an Accountant within Finance and Administrative Services, you will be responsible for conducting analysis and accounting research, assisting with the audit, performing reconciliations and assuring compliance with Lake County Policies and Procedures. You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County, which consists of more than 30 departments and divisions. Being able to build working relationships with employees and the public is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.

In this position, you will work directly with the Lake County Controller to support financial functions. Using your quantitative skills and accounting knowledge, you will document transactions, summarize financial status, reconcile discrepancies and prepare financial reports. In addition, this position will support month-end and year-end close and assist in producing the Lake County budget, and provide accounting support to various County departments.

In order to be successful in this role you must have thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles, along with experience in general ledger functions and accounting software. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field and five (5) to eight (8) years of experience.
