the role

If you're reading this, we want to talk to you about leading Comms Planning on our largest account in Chicago. In this role, you would shape the thinking across one of the world's most iconic brands. As Comms Planning lead, you would be the connective tissue between the client's business strategy, the agencies brand strategies and OMD's media strategy.

We would look to you to bring big consumer/cultural insights that drive bigger context strategies for our client's brand. In our world, good context strategy answers when, where and how brands should engage consumers – and does so in a way that amplifies consumer/cultural relevance, accelerates brand adoption, and animates the creative idea through media placement and creativity.

You would be tasked with establishing enhanced ways of working that elevate the role of context/creativity in media planning and inspires the next level media ideas and partnerships. You would also need to be a shrewd business/analytical mind that uses research to make a case for new ideas.

As this role is a senior role in our Chicago office, you would have significant opportunity to help build office culture and contribute to high-profile new business opportunities.

Qualifications

what you'll need to succeed

10 to 15 years of diverse strategic experience spanning disciplines such as brand planning, comms planning, research and ethnography, and digital/CRM. Experience building trust and influence with executive stakeholders. Track record of partnerships that enhance team culture and performance.

who you'll partner with

You would report into OMD Business Lead for McDonald's with a dotted line to the US head of Strategy & Planning based in NY. You would partner closely with the US media team, creative agency planners and creatives and other OMD media leads.
