Description
Summary: The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for supporting the activity relating to technical activities in the field, at the Fitzpatrick site and other Idex locations. This can include factory acceptance trials and laboratory testing support.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Direct reporting to the Manager of Technical Support.
Indirect reporting to the Laboratory Manager or V.P. of sales groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for field commissioning of process systems manufactured by The Fitzpatrick Company. Includes international and domestic projects.
* Responsible for field service visits to assist customers in the proper operation of Fitzpatrick Process equipment.
* Provide support in the test laboratory performing trials on Fitzpatrick process equipment along with the development of reports after the trials.
* Perform FAT ( factory acceptance trials) at The Fitzpatrick Company. With and without customers present.
* Assist in the process / technical training of existing or newly hired personnel.
* Assist in testing and evaluating new equipment developments or improvement to current process equipment.
* Provide technical support to our sales engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, after market group, and customers by written and verbal communication.
* Responsible for developing technical reports based upon technical support visits.
GENERAL:
Provides and facilitates communications/interactions amongst team members, between teams and customers.
Helps to assist department in reaching appropriate goals & metrics.
Demonstrates personal flexibility in approach and ideas and responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments.
Organizes and prioritizes work assignment to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance. Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems for area of responsibility.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
Must be able to travel at minimum 50% to 60% of the time.
Continually works to accomplish yearly objectives and goals.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrate drive and determination to achieve success.
Perform the job function in a professional manner.
Able to lift 45 lbs, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods of time.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Previous experience a benefit Must be able to use a PC
