Quality Assurance Analyst
Purpose
The Quality Assurance Analysts (QA) is responsible for the development of test strategy documentation, the creation and execution of detailed software test scripts, and for owning the Quality Control process throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities include implementation and completion of assigned quality tasks, and ensuring the highest quality client-facing deliverables throughout the application lifecycle. The QA Analyst has reporting responsibility to QA team leads for any given project.
Technical Skills and Experience
2+ years of software quality assurance experience specializing in web-based applications.
Familiarity with the nuances of unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
Ability to digest functional and technical requirements, and use these to create thorough test scripts in accordance with departmental templates.
Detailed execution of test scripts with attention to detail
Clear documentation of detected defects in the defect tracking system
Keen attention to detail, and the ability to catch the most subtle defects.
Ability to use systematic methods to research defects
Familiarity with automated performance, quality, and security testing tools is a plus
Familiarity with coding techniques that assist in testing such as basic SQL or NUnit / JUnit a plus
Education and Experience
BS/BA in Media, Computer Science, HCI or MIS, or equivalent work experience
Typically requires 2+ years experience in full lifecycle application development capacity.
