Job Title: General Cleaner ABM/Chicago, IL; Location: Belvidere Oasis $9.00 hrly
Must be available to work Sunday from 11:30am to 7:00pm, Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m, and Friday from 11:30am to 7:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Makes sure cleaning duties are perform as specified in the cleaning specifications for the building and/or as instructed by the Management.
Machinery/Equipment:
Vacuum Cleaner, trash barrel, mop and bucket, supply cart, and floor equipment; floor equipment includes a buffer, burnisher, a shampoo extractor, and rotary scrubber
Essential Functions of The Job:
Must report to building Follows organized by the Supervisor work routines and schedules for all cleaning personnel.
Supervises the completion of all cleaning tasks and ensures quality standard is met.
Instructs workers in the proper use of equipment and chemicals; asks Supervisor for direction if necessary.
Performs inspections of the office and common area.
Orders supplies and perform supplies inventory.
Performs project work and follow ups on the project work done the previous day by other employees.
Assists with payroll preparation.
Disciplines employees utilizing ABM s progressive discipline system when necessary; asks Supervisor for directions if necessary.
Interfaces with building tenants on an as needed basis.
Conducts monthly safety meetings.
Communicates to the Supervisor when a proper coverage is needed for absent employees; provides proper coverage by reassigning duties if necessary and with an approval of Supervisor.
Follows HazCom requirements for chemical labeling, use and storage of chemicals.
Makes sure janitorial closets are organized, clean and chemicals are stored in accordance to the HazCom requirements.
Monitors and trains regular staff members and temporary staff.
Performs daily quality inspections of work areas assigned to the temporary staff.
Reports any accidents, incidents and/or damages at the buildings to the Supervisor.
Maintains recycling program instituted at the location.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions/Other Education/Training: Some High School. Work related training.
Job Knowledge/Experience: 1-2 years of previous cleaning and supervisory experience is required.
License(s): Not required
Language/Communication Requirements: Good communication skills in English are required.
Reading Skills: Must be able to read MSDS sheets and chemical labels in English.
Writing Skills: Basic English writing skills is required.
- Must be available to work extra hours when needed
- Knowledge in stripping and waxing is a plus

Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m; Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m..
