Job Summary
Applied Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a resourceful and driven Database Analyst to be responsible for database performance, integrity, and security in a production environment. In this role, you will perform ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, and scalability optimizations to the database systems supporting several thousand users. You will also troubleshoot/problem-solve SQL development, and provide trend analysis to our management to assist them in making resource utilization decisions. You will architect high performing database solutions for production databases with zero downtime.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the system
* Improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades
* Implementation and release of database changes according to release timeframes
* Control database schema and constraints to ensure consistency and optimization

Requirements:

* Associate s or Bachelor s degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent work experience
* 5-7 years experience administrating and optimizing multiple production database systems supporting thousands of concurrent users
* Experience managing multiple Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005 RDBMS on large systems
* Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
* Experience of Transactional SQL, stored procedures, DTS
* Practical experience in managing the internal and external Microsoft SQL Server database security
* Strong self-sufficiency and initiative
