Primary responsibilities include:

Responsible for authorization and care management of inpatient and outpatient services according to medical necessity and level of care guideline criteria.

Providing telephonic care advocacy and utilization review for behavioral health services

Consulting mainly with providers and occasionally with patients and their families and/or support systems

Ensuring that patients receive appropriate, high-quality care

Clinical skills to assist with discharge planning

Work with providers/facilities to complete concurrent reviews

Work with our psychiatrists to review cases

Skills / Requirements

Must have a current, non-restricted license in the State of IL

RN or a Master's degree and a current, unrestricted license as an LCSW, LCPC or PhD

3+ years of related experience in an appropriate mental health or chemical dependency environment

Experience with inpatient mental health/chemical dependency is highly preferred, and a familiarity with psychological diagnosis (such as DSM IV and UCD-9) is ideal. Computer skills are a must.
