We are seeking a confident, assertive, team-player with strong counseling abilities to fill a Care Advocate position in our Schaumburg office. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for authorization and care management of inpatient and outpatient services according to medical necessity and level of care guideline criteria.

  • Providing telephonic care advocacy and utilization review for behavioral health services

  • Consulting mainly with providers and occasionally with patients and their families and/or support systems

  • Ensuring that patients receive appropriate, high-quality care

  • Clinical skills to assist with discharge planning

  • Work with providers/facilities to complete concurrent reviews

  • Work with our psychiatrists to review cases

  • Skills / Requirements




  • Must have a current, non-restricted license in the State of IL

  • RN or a Master's degree and a current, unrestricted license as an LCSW, LCPC or PhD

  • 3+ years of related experience in an appropriate mental health or chemical dependency environment

  • Experience with inpatient mental health/chemical dependency is highly preferred, and a familiarity with psychological diagnosis (such as DSM IV and UCD-9) is ideal. Computer skills are a must.
